About Writers’ Rumpus
Who we are: Writers and illustrators of children’s books for all ages, from picture books to middle grade and young adult. Our experience ranges from first-draft newbies to published authors & artists and everything in between.
Where we come from: Our blog began with a lively, opinionated, humongous rumpus of a critique group that meets monthly at Memorial Hall Library in Andover, Massachusetts and is affiliated with the New England chapter of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI).
If you live in the greater Boston area, information about joining our critique group is here. The group is going strong, but some active bloggers have moved on from the group, and others have joined the blog through connections with the group.
Why we blog: We have so much to share beyond our critiques, and so little time in our meetings! Our blog is a place to share ideas, tips, news, and information of interest with each other and with the wider children’s publishing community.
