Hey writers,
For my first post in 2023, I will share my own monthly plan, as I have done in the past. However, in future 2023 posts, I invite you to share your experiences and writing goals as a guest featured on the blog.
This month, I invite you to:
- Pick one resource or opportunity. Think about what you’re working on right now and pick something that will help you make progress with that work!
- Fill out the google form to be considered for future blog posts. I promise the interview process will be simple, efficient, and fun!
- Share which resources you utilized in the past month in the comments. Let’s share terrific resources. The kidlit writing community consistently lifts each other up, and this blog can be another space to just that.
Will you join me on this journey?
What did you accomplish this month? Don’t forget to share in the comments!
Lexi’s FEBRUARY GAME PLAN
This month I want to find consistent time to write and insist on BIC (butt in chair) at least once a week. I am looking for those opportunities that will inspire me to make BIC happen!
- SCBWI Virtual Conference ($) NY’s SCBWI conference will be virtual as well as in person this year! I am especially excited for the virtual creative lab “Character Development for Novelists” with Jill Santopolo.
- My goal this month is also to reclaim writing time within my week. I will start by committing to writing on Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings! It’s been lost the past few months between teaching and young kids… but I’m feeling caught up and recharged! Writing stamina muscles, get ready!
What will you accomplish this month? Let’s celebrate each other in the comments!

I’m not sure this counts as a resource…but joining a writing group almost a year ago has been the game changer for me! All those scraps of ideas that I had for writing remained scraps until I actually had a group to share with. Since joining the group, I have written three children’s books and finally started a blog on which I post weekly! My books are not yet published, but at least I finally got them done!

Thank you, Lexi, for doing this blog! I didn’t know about the WriteOnCon. My writing in January- I managed to sit down almost every day M-F at 4pm for an hour. It is scrappy, but it works.
